Phill Jupitus
is best known for his captaining of a team on the TV game-show Nevermind
the Buzzcocks . Tonight was a different matter - comedy without the
aid of pop stars or Mark Lamarr to bounce off, and so it was with trepidation
that we took our seats for his stand up show.
First shock of the night was a be-suited Richard Morton doing warm up and
informing everyone that he had just become a Daddy. Having always believed
the man was gay, this revelation was both bizarre and amusing in its self.
A few Jasper Carrot style acoustic numbers later and it was time for the big
fella.
One thing that is not apparent about Phill from his television appearances,
is his obsession with his knob. Strange but true - the fat man apparently
spends quite a large percentage of his time playing with it and thinking up
dick related jokes. This aside there were some great gags men afraid
of spiders, the two minute Blair Witch, internet wanking (recurrent theme
alert!), Eddie Izzard as Ben Kenobi, and the likeness between the man himself,
Jeremy Spake and Chris Moyles.
Phill Jupitus, TV Star, comedian, punk poet, DJ, wanker (in the nicest possible
way).
