Gareth Kemp tests the little plastic circles

Proud Mary – Very Best Friend
Well, the band is named after a Creedence Clear Water Revival song and they obviously owe a lot to the likes of Fogerty, the Stones, Canned Heat et all. This is the first release off Noel Gallagher’s new Sour Mash record label, obviously he’s keen on tunes written to a tried and tested formula. Having said that the songs have catchy melodies and countrified harmonies. The sort of songs that grow on you if YOU LET THEM.
