The first in an only slightly pointless series of interviews with bands that have the same name as Liverpool bands, we traded emails with Tim from the American Waste. They don't sound like Kraftwerk, either.
You're a band called Waste. What are
you like?
We really haven't gotten a sound down yet...we're still practicing on cover
stuff...and we don't have a permanent roster yet (bassist and drummer,
mainly).
Have you ever heard the Liverpool Waste?
No
What sort of musical associations does
Liverpool conjure up for you?
Uhhh...meow mix liver...please deliver...I got nothin'
Are you pissed off there's another band with your name?
No. We only took "Waste" because it exemplified
how we felt about a lot of
things: waste of time, waste of space, waste of talent. What little
original stuff we've written so far generally revolves around how we dislike
people who suck, bands that suck, and jobs that suck. We also hate
conformists.
They sound fine to me - lets swap....
