Devoted fanbase. Name that suggests they spent more than four seconds coming up with it. We thought it was time to get to know Rubbinstone a little better.
* what do rubbinstone sound like?
Imagine Led Zepp and Santana on a dance tip, meeting up with Pavarotti for a night out in Cream with The Animals DJing....you might just have a part of what we sound like.
* how did it all begin?
It all began in 1997, when 3 lads were introduced to another lad, whose mate also joined a year and a half later, just after the fifth lad who was a mate's mate....the perfect melting pot of very diverse backgrounds.
* how will it all end?
Everything ends.....this will end with the biggest goddam bang & whipcrack you've ever heard.
* how can people get to hear more of you?
On-line (www.rubbinstone.co.uk), seeing us live, dates will always be on our web news, along with a forthcoming BBC radio gig.
* who's in the line-up?
Mark (lead vocal/vocals/percussion), Ian (guitars/effects/vocals), Steve (bass guitar/effects), Michael (vocals/operatic vocal/percussion), Carl (keyboards/sequencers), and the lovely Ritchie (drums/percussion).
* if you had a supergun, who should be worried?
All the soft faceless gets who storm the charts with kidpop shite and have the nerve to call themselves bands! They know who they are......
* how good is the liverpool music scene?
There's a few decent unsigned bands around town...especially in the last year, it's getting a bit better but that's why we see ourselves as breaking the mould of the jingly jangly sound Liverpool is mainly renowned for...we are THE new sound of Liverpool, make no mistake!
* who else in liverpool do you rate?
Ooberman tend to get the thumbs up, and Zeb have got a decent vibe thang goin', Moonboogie are good lads with a great sound and prescence.
* who is the sexiest Rubbinstone?
We all thing Ian's dead sexy in those pants, but it's
in the audience's court this one to be honest....6 very different sexy guys
with very different appeal...is that an OK enough answer?
Its fair enough, though hard to
judge without seeing Ian in his pants. Like the man said, you can taste the
stone by surfing on down to their website.
