ClickMusic Summer 2001

Wales - it's where it all happens, isn't it? Even the FA Cup is held in
Cardiff nowadays and Weakest Link dominatrix Anne Robinson was so enraged by
the talent and wit of the men and women of old Cymru that she consigned the
whole nation to that depot for all that is despised, Room 101. The
continuing prominence of Welsh music must only compound her anger - but not
ours. We at Clickmusic pride ourselves on our ability to recognise quality
and in tribute, have asked two of the leading figures in a rather
gravelly-voiced Welsh vanguard - one web-literate, the other decidedly not,
[The first was a Stereophonic, and as such has no place here] to step
forward and share their views on the internet and to let us know what lurks
at the back of their respective record collections. Catatonia have been
wowing audiences everywhere with their anthemic guitar pop since the early
nineties and their continuing appeal is due in no small part to the
incredible singing voice and earthy charisma of Cerys Matthews. Alas, though
Cerys may claim that we all live in the space age, she is unashamedly
Neolithic when it comes to the web - here's what she said...

What was your first encounter with the web?
In Lorelei, doing a festival in Germany.

What are your favourite sites?
