Factoids
This appeared in our inbox one day

--- We all know that The first Angel team consisted of Angel, Cordelia
and Doyle, but did you know that it was originally supposed to be
Whistler instead of Doyle?
---Alyson Hannigan was not the first actress to play Willow. It was
originally an actress called Riff Regan in the pilot, but it was later
changed
---Originally in the Season Six finale "Grave" Buffy and Dawn were
supposed to fight the Dragon that came out of the portal in "The Gift".
However budget limitations scrapped this idea
---If Amber Benson had returned in Buffy Season Seven she would have
walked around as the First for a while, before finally becoming human
again in "Chosen".
---In "The Gift" Anya was originally supposed to die. However Joss wanted
to make the 100th episode much more dramatic. And what could be more
dramatic then killing off your lead character
---In a cut scene from "Chosen" Principal Wood and Giles share both a
joint (in one version) and airport bottles of whisky (Version 2). Neither
made the final cut
---Jonothan M. Woodward is the only actor to have appeared in every
Mutant Enemy Show, playing Holden (Buffy) the treacherous Knox (Angel)
and Tracey (Firefly)
--- If Britney Spears was to appear in Buffy it would have been as the
April-Bot in "I was Made to Love You"
---Joss Whedon's favourite Buffy weapon is the crossbow. Mine personally,
the axe.
---The first Buffy episode to prompt a public service announcement was "I
only have eyes for you" in which Sarah Michelle Gellar warned teens of
suicide
---Sarah Michelle Gellar, Alyson Hannigan and Charisma Carpenter all
share the same shoe size
--- Ms Rosenberg? Willow was originally going to be a teacher in Buffy
Season Seven
---If Angel Season 6 had happened, Joss Whedon wanted Oz to become a
series regular, and Willow to guest star reguarly. Now all we can do is
curse Jordan Levin. Also Amy Acker was to play a double role as
Illyria/Fred.
---It took George Hertzberg over five hours to get into Adam's make-up
---Ripper, the unmade Giles spin-off starring Anthony Stewart Head
(although with Anthony Stewart Head's comments it may not be as dead as
it seems) would have been set in Bath, incedentially where the Season
Seven English scenes from "Lessons" were filmed
---Sarah Michele Gellar and Alyson Hannigan are the only two actresses to
have appeared in every single episode of Buffy. Nicholas Brendon
appeared in all but "Conversations with Dead People", Anthony Stewart
Head appeared in 122/144 episodes. No other actor has appeared in
more than 100 episodes with James Marsters at 96 episodes and Emma
Caulfield at 82.
Incedentally David Boreanaz is the only person to have appeared in
every episode of Angel, with Alexis Denisof following close behind with
102/110 epsiodes and J. August Richards at 90 epsisodes and Angel's
leading (and now dead) lady, Charisma Carpenter at 86 episodes.
--- Only two episodes in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel have had two
titles: Buffy Season Ones' "Out of Mind, Out of Sight" was also the
shorter (and much less original) "Invisible Girl", while Angel Season Four
had the action packed "Apocalypse Nowish" also called "Rain of Fire".
Some people could argue that the 13th episode of Angel Season Five:
"Why we Fight" was also called "!943" but nothing official has come out of
the ME offices. As an interesting side point BTVS's "Helpless" was
originally going to be called "18" while "Lies My Parents told me" had
"Mothers and Sons" as a title for a while in production.
--- Continuing the vein above, Doug Petrie revealed in his Season Four
commentry of the episode that "The Initiative" was originanally called
"Secret Agent Man". This was changed, however because the writers felt
that it was too obvious and gave away the plot of the episode
---Jane Espenson wrote two scripts for Buffy Animated called 'Teeny' and
'Food Fight'
---Riley Finn, was only supposed to be in three episodes. However he
ended up staying for 30. To find out what I think Riley Finn should be
doing now, go to my Seven Crows page for my Riley, Sam, Buffy and Angel
spin-off, based on the book of the same name
---Harry Groener (The Mayor) was born in Augsberg, Bavaria. Anyone else
heard of it?
--- Have a Little Faith - In Season Seven of Buffy, Eliza Dusku's voice
is a little higher, because her deeper voice was destroying her vocal
chords
---For the Faith and Buffy body switch episode "Who are You", Joss Whedon
penned six drafts
---Emma Caulfield is a trained psychologist
---On the subject of Emma Caulfield, its interesting to note that she was
actually only the second choice to play Anya. The original choice
backed out, because the role was only for two episodes. Bet she's kicking
herself in the gut now!
---The Oz and Veruca storyline in Season Four was supposed to go on for
more than two episodes but due to Seth Green wanting to leave it had to
be cut short
---David Fury has made three cameo's in the BuffyVerse. Twice as the
Mustard Man ("Once More with Feeling" and "Selfless") and the puppet
master in "Smile Time"
---If you Google Search "Buffy" at this time of writing it comes up with
5,190,000 results
---Joss Whedon went to school in Winchester, Hampshire, England. My city
(Southampton) is it's sister city, and I can tell you what Winchester
is about. 1. It is mucho, mucho expensive. 2. All the people who live
there speak very posh and la-de-dah. 3. It's like history central of the
world! His parents must have been pretty rich to have afforded
somewhere like that, but I would love a house there
---The Season Seven episode "Him" was actually a lengthened version of
(the soon to be reborn) Buffy Animated. Incidentially, the writer of this
episode Drew Z. Greenberg was first brought in to be a writer for the
Cartoon Slayer
---In the Angel Season Three episode "Birthday", the voice singing over
the title credits to "Cordy!" is Buffy executive producer Marti Noxon
---Ok, so its not like anybody didn't know this, but just in case, Alyson
Hannigan (Willow) and Alexis Denisof (Wesley) are married
---In the episode "Dopplegangland" Alyson Hannigan said that if she
moistened her breast inserts they would stick to the wall. These inserts
weren't actually in her by the way
---Buffy's last word is "Spike". Dawn has the last word in 'Chosen' with
"Yeah Buffy what do we do now?". Meanwhile on Angel the last word was
spoken by the souled vampire himself and was "Lets go to Work"
---Angel's leather duster, from Hugo Boss, cost $1000, while Spike, a
mere guest star at the time, had his jacket at $1,600
---The first episode of Buffy to air in this millenium was "Doomed"
(Season Four) in which an apocalypse was averted.
---In order to create the effect of extreme torture, in between takes, on
the Buffy Season Two episode "Becoming Part Two", Anthony Stewart
Head would pop chilli peppers into him mouth
---Buffy Animated producer Jeph Loeb has a son called Sam who has
written a story for "Tales of the Vampires" the monthly comic strip
