Theaudience seemed to be the last pickings of the skip that was she-powered britpoppery - pleasant enough, but trailing badly in the wake of a dozen injured Echobellys, Republicas and Sleepers. And Sophie? Well, daughter of the true Blue Peter godess Janet Ellis, but with her poked-out eyes and trapezium head, she was hardly the sort of person to make you whimper. Why, that would be as likely as her reinevnting herself, singing on the first year-defining tune of the century, and fixing herself a position in the pantheon. 'Groovejet' and an FHM shoot later, we can only conclude there's hope for us all.
